Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

MentorNxt is a self-study platform for learning programming. Our Java course is live and more courses (Python, C#, JavaScript) are coming. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have.

2. What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address, role (learner, mentor, college TPO or admin) and your password, which we store only as a one-way hash, never in readable form.
• Profile details you choose to add, such as phone number, college, bio, skills or experience.
• Learning activity: which lessons you complete, your last lesson, daily activity and streaks, so you can continue where you left off on any device.
• Contact messages: the name, email, optional phone number and message you send through our contact form or mentor application form.
• Mentor payout details: mentors may add bank account details so we can pay them for work agreed with the team.
• Technical data our servers log when you use the site, such as IP address, browser type and the time of a request, used to keep the service running and to investigate errors or misuse.

We do not collect payment card details. No payments are taken on MentorNxt today.

3. Why we use it

• To create and run your account, sign you in and verify your email address.
• To give you access to lessons and save your progress, streaks and activity.
• To reply to messages you send us and to review mentor applications.
• To pay mentors for agreed work.
• To keep the platform working, fix problems and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

4. How your data is stored

Your account, profile, progress and contact messages are stored in our database on our hosting provider's servers. Passwords are hashed and traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. Access to the admin tools is limited to our team.

5. Cookies and local storage

We keep this minimal and use no advertising or analytics trackers.

• A sign-in cookie set by our server when you sign in, used only to keep you signed in.
• Your browser's local storage holds your sign-in token, your name and role for the navigation bar, a local copy of your lesson progress (so the lesson list loads quickly), and a few display preferences such as a collapsed sidebar.

Signing out clears the sign-in data from your browser. You can also clear local storage in your browser settings at any time.

6. Google sign-in

If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address and Google account identifier with us so we can create or sign in to your account. We do not receive your Google password. The sign-in button is loaded from Google, and Google's own privacy policy applies to how Google handles that interaction.

7. Emails we send

• One-time codes (OTP) to verify your email address when you sign up.
• One-time codes to reset your password when you ask for it.
• Replies to messages you send through the contact or mentor application forms.

We do not send marketing newsletters.

8. Services we use

We share data only with the providers needed to run the service:

• Hosting and database providers that run our website, API and database.
• An email delivery (SMTP) provider that sends our verification codes and replies.
• Google, if you use Google sign-in.

We may also disclose data if the law requires it.

9. How long we keep data and your choices

We keep your account data while your account is active. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to answer them and keep a record of the conversation.

You can view and edit your profile in your account. To get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account and its data, email support@mentornxt.com from the address on your account. We will confirm the request and act on it within a reasonable time, keeping only what the law requires us to keep.

10. Children

MentorNxt is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact support@mentornxt.com and we will delete it.

11. Payments

Paid plans may be introduced later. We will update this policy and our terms before any payment is taken.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes we will let account holders know by email or on the site.
